Dolly Parton escaped the struggles of her life early on by using her creative and imaginative imagination. She was writing songs before she could write or read. At the age of 8years old, she purchased her first electric guitar. She began to sing at an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. That same year she made her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. Although she was studying, she already made a name of herself in the local music scene. But her dream was to to make music on a bigger scale. She moved to Nashville following her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted for the first time on Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on his syndicated television show. Parton was offered the gig in 1967 signed with RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of with the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. She left Wagoner's show, but in 1974, because her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton following the breakup of their partnership with Wagoner, wrote"I Will Never Love You and had it reach the top spot at No. The first time it reached the top spot was in 1974.
